ItalianNounminivan m. inv. From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A minivan, multi-purpose vehicle (abbreviated MPV), people-carrier, people-mover or multi-utility vehicle (shortened MUV) is a type of automobile similar in shape to a van that is designed for personal use. Minivans are taller than a sedan, hatchback or a station wagon, and are designed for maximum interior room. The termThe term "minivan"was coined in North America, deriving from the fact that these vehicles were considerably smaller and more streamlined than traditional North American passenger vans, such as the Ford E-Series. Other terms are used in other English-speaking countries. In Europe and India, "multi-purpose vehicle" (MPV) describes the general vehicle type without reference to its size. These are described with a word before the acronym: a "mini MPV" is derived from a supermini, a "compact MPV" is based on a small family car and a "large MPV" has about the same size as a large family car. In Asia, "multi-utility vehicle" (MUV) has more or less the same meaning as MPV. "People-carrier" and "people mover" describe both large MPVs and minibuses, but not smaller models. GNU Free Documentation License Is it ok to put my minivan battery with higher amps for cranking into my car? Q. My minivan battery has about 700 cold cranking amps and I put it in my '90 Honda Accord EX which only needs I think only about 560 amps cold crank. Thanks to all. Asked by franz j - Tue Oct 21 13:44:06 2008 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments A. It would work fine. The thing that needs to match is volts, and nearly everything these days is 12 vdc. Amps - more the merrier. If you're in a cold climate (winter's coming), more CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) means more reserve power to start the car. My old 428-powered Mustang had a typical 1960s battery, with about 450 CCA. The current battery is an Exide Orbital, with something around 800 CCA. Back when I was young, dinosaurs roamed the earth, and Jerry Brown was governor of California, we figured one CCA per cubic inch of engine. New cars have more electrics, so need rather more CCA. Got to run an electric fuel pump, the powertrain control module (computer), primary and secondary ignition systems, fuel injection, and so on. Q. we're looking at getting a minivan (new or used) but we don't want anything really huge. i was wondering if anyone knows which minivan would be the shortest front to back of them all (or one of the shortest)? we're not picky about make or model (though we are in canada so no citroens or anything like that lol). thanks. i guess i should mention that we are looking for the cheapest, smallest thing. emphasis on 'cheapest' lol. but all suggestions are welcome as we might find something used that we could afford. Q. I've got the assembly, and have the old cover off, bulbs out and into the new cover. The hang-ups, aside from my not knowing what things are called, are in getting the electrical connection from the old assembly disconnected. The whole thing is like a plastic fitting that fits down over a port on the new assembly. There was a small bit of red plastic that I thought was functioning as a lock to hold the fitting onto the old port. I took that out. However, something is still latched, and I can't seem to identify what I need to lift, squeeze, push, pull, or smack to get the fitting off the old assembly. Any help out there? It is a 2003 Grand Caravan. (And before you make fun of me for being a minivan mom, be aware there are few things… [cont.] Asked by Arby - Tue Oct 9 13:35:49 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A.
